Storyboarding on this movie was quite a different experience because the CGI characters of the magical animals had to be matched to the already existing live action film material. In this the storyboarding needed to be very tight, sometimes even on twos so that it resembled more the work of a classical animator. I had great fun just concentrating on the animation of the characters - wich brought back memories of my ancient past when I was a character animator. And the interesting thing was that it felt like yesterday. I guess that animation is like learning to ride a bike. One never forgets how to do it.
